Borsele: a municipality of contrasts

Borsele is a municipality of contrasts. On the one hand, the community lies largely in the magnificent national conservation area of the 'Zak van Zuid-Beveland'. On the other, the industrial ‘Sloe’ region is also in Borsele. This is a large-scale industrial and port zone that contains a nuclear power station. Borsele thus combines repose and space with dynamism and industry.

The Borsele local authority aims to meld the municipality's contrasts into a single whole, making quality of life in the small centres an important focus. Each village has at the least a community centre, a playground and a sports complex. Borsele aims not only at quality of life but also at innovation. The municipality is continuously working on new projects and on economic development.
